About Us

At Big Horn Outfitters, our mission is to ensure your Colorado hunting adventure is as enjoyable and successful as possible. With three generations of experience and over 60 years in hunting and the great outdoors, we’re here to guide you.

We are authorized by the U.S. Forest Service to hunt in GMU's 4, 214, and 441, located in the northern part of the Routt National Forest. This region boasts a robust population of elk, mule deer, antelope and bear, nestled in the mountainous terrain north of Hayden, Colorado.

The hunting areas we utilize range from altitudes of 7,000 feet to over 10,000 feet, featuring a diverse landscape of grassy slopes, aspen-filled valleys, and rugged black timber forests that extend to the horizon. While we offer fair chase hunting only and cannot guarantee you will fill your tags, we are dedicated to making your trip a memorable experience!

You will enjoy a cozy and well-equipped hunting camp, complete with everything needed to prepare delicious meals, comfortable cots for sleeping, and personal care facilities.
